Changes to bin collections and customer services in Allerdale over August bank holiday

Residents are being reminded that there will be changes to bin collections over the upcoming August bank holiday.  

There will be no bin collections on Monday 29 August. Collections for week commencing 29 August will take place one day later than normal. 

For example, bins due to be collected on Monday 29 August will be collected on Tuesday 30 August and bins due to be collected on Friday 2 September will take place on Saturday 3 September. 

Bins should be placed outside ready for emptying before 6am on the day of collection.

Collections will return to normal on week commencing 5 September 2022. 

Allerdale’s Customer Services will be closed from Friday, 26 August at 4.30pm and reopen at 9am on Tuesday, 30 August. 

Householders can check their collection day – and download a yearly calendar – on the council’s website at www.allerdale.gov.uk/bincollections. Missed bin collections can be reported at www.allerdale.gov.uk/en/report/report-missed-bin/.
