Allerdale has it all: it’s a place bursting with attractions. Where else offers two UNESCO World Heritage sites, a national park, and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Your next adventure begins here.
In Cumbria’s north west corner, Allerdale boasts the most impressive scenery to be found in the Lake District National Park – centred on Keswick. But don’t miss out on our other towns – Cockermouth, Workington and Maryport to the west, up the Solway coast to Silloth then inland to Aspatria and Wigton to explore the beautiful villages in between.
While there’s plenty of action and adventure, we also have our share of luxury. For a romantic getaway or a break from the rigours of modern life, it’s the perfect place to escape to.
As a foodie paradise, there’s quality, locally-sourced fine dining or tempting afternoon tea. After something cosier? Find a warm welcome at a Lakeland pub with delicious traditional pub grub and a good craic with the locals.
For more information about what to do, see and where to stay in Allerdale, keep your eyes peeled for our new tourism website which will be up and running very soon.
