The Executive have today (6 August 2019) taken positive steps to address the issues which have affected bin collections in Allerdale since 1 April 2019. Councillors decided to agree to an interim agreement with FCC Environment, who collect the waste on behalf of the council.

This interim agreement will ensure there is sufficient resource available so that garden waste and recycling collections can restart as soon as possible, and all collections are made on the scheduled day. Once this interim agreement has been finalised and agreed with FCC Environment we shall announce a date for the resumption of services.

The Executive also agreed to continue work on a longer-term solution, so that residents receive the standard of waste collection service they expect.
