Owners of garages in Allerdale are being invited to apply for the tender to carry out Hackney carriage and private hire vehicle tests on behalf of Allerdale Borough Council.

The tender process is now live and will run until 10am on November 9, 2020.

The successful supplier must be registered with the DVSA as an approved MOT station at the commencement of the contract and in force for the duration of the contract. The contract would begin from February 1, 2021.

These tests are required as part of the licensing process and are currently conducted annually except for vehicles that are four years old and above which are tested twice a year. This, however, is currently under review and may change in the future.

Anyone interested in the opportunity needs to register on The Chest as a supplier at and submit their tender through this procurement system.

More details can be found at or by contacting Mrs G Collinson, Licensing Department, Allerdale House, Workington, Cumbria, CA14 3YJ. Tel: 0303 123 1702.
