Translating and interpreting services
Customer services
We use the Language Line service for translation and interpretation. This service enables customers to communicate with council departments and receive information about council services in their preferred language including BSL (British Sign Language).
We can provide a verbal translation either over the telephone or face to face at the customer service centre and council offices. We can also provide written and emailed communications in other languages as required.
Alternative formats
We can provide translated, large print and audio CD versions of our printed information in most cases. Please contact customer services or the relevant council department to request information in alternative formats. There is also an alternative format link at the bottom of each page on this website which enables you to send a request online.
How do I make use of these translation services?
Contact our customer service team who can provide you with more information. You may have to book a meeting with them which the Language Line translator can also attend.
