Social Impact Investment Fund (SIIF)
We have a fund of £500,000 from which is provided by Sellafield to help businesses. The money supports the Social Impact Investment Fund (SIIF) and is available to all eligible businesses. In recent years the money has been awarded to a number of businesses to help them with their plans. And last month, we agreed a new approach to distribute the money.
Around a fifth of the total, will be available as grants to help new or fledgling businesses get off the ground. The grants will be for up to £10,000 each and applications can be made direct to us.
If you need more money for your plans or you don't meet the criteria for a grant, we're setting up loan scheme for amounts of up to £75,000. More details will be available on our website once everything has been set up.
And finally we're using £150,000 to go towards projects which support our Business Growth Plan. This sets out key initiatives to help local businesses with what they need to grow in key sectors like manufacturing and tourism.
