Exotic, dangerous and wild animal licences
If you have a wild, exotic or dangerous animal and you are not running a zoo, circus, pet shop or laboratory then you will need to apply for a licence from us.
What animals are covered by the licence?
You can find out more information about the licence, including what animals are covered on the Gov.uk website.
How do I apply for a licence?
To apply for a licence from us:
- Download and complete the application form to apply for a new licence, or to renew an old one
- Enclose the relevant fee as shown in our fees and charges document - include a cheque made out to Allerdale Borough Council
- Send to the Food and Occupational Health team at our offices in Workington
We will not issue a licence until the conditions are met. These conditions will depend on the particular animal.
