Community Governance Reviews

Town and parish councils can request a review of their governance to be carried out by Allerdale Borough Council. A review could look at the boundaries, the number of councillors, or whether the council should merge with another.

The reviews are usually carried out by a working group of Allerdale councillors for the relevant area. This group consults with the local community, comes up with a recommendation and this is voted on by Allerdale Borough Council's councillors.
