Easter waste collections and opening hours

In the week beginning, 22 April, all collections will be a day later with collections usually due on Friday 26 April being carried out on Saturday 27 April. Collections return to normal in the following week. Find out more.

Bulky item collection

We offer a bulky item refuse collection to householders within Allerdale for a small fee.

Below is a list of items we can collect. Unfortunately, if your item is not listed then we can't collect it. You may be able to take such items to the  Household Waste Recycling Centres in Workington, Wigton or Maryport.  

Fees for bulky item collections from 1 April 2019 until 31 March 2020 are £26.90 for a collection of up to six items then an additional £26.90 for each group of up to six items after this.

Bulky household items we can collect

Please note, if it is not listed here, we are unable to collect the item. Please see the list of Household Waste Recycling Centres for places to take items we do not collect. Certain vehicles such as vans and pick ups are only allowed to use these sites under the permit scheme. Guidance on the scheme and how to apply can be found on the Cumbria County Council Website.
